Blog Achievement: Fourth Year Anniversary, Time to Blossom

A couple of days ago (June 4 to be exact), WordPress congratulated me on yet another achievement. This is the latest of a string of “small” achievements I had this year, at least in terms of blogging. I can’t help but feel a little bit nostalgic as I look back on the past four years and how it has slowly shaped me. It still gets me how had my blogging developed from a mere pastime to a legitimate word to get closer to the rest of the world through my annals.

The Commencement of a Commitment

Admittedly, I never thought seriously of blogging when I was younger. Nevertheless, I thought it was cool and I was fascinated by how verbose people can get as they share about a bevy of things, ranging from their travels to their personal experiences. It was amazing just going through other people’s thoughts. But starting my own? Nah, it never crossed my mind.

Everything changed when a friend I got acquainted through social media (although we once attended the same high school). She was just a mere Facebook friend; I don’t even have any iota (until now) how she ended up in my friend list! Nevertheless, what truly drew me into her is that she has her own blog page. I was mesmerized by everything she wrote (sincerely).

To cut the story short, we became instant friends through circumstances unworthy of any conceptions I would have ever conjured. We ended up talking about her writing which inevitably turned to mine. Inspired by her success, I resolved to start mine. This is the reason I am always grateful to her, because had it not been for her, none of this would have been possible. Thank you!

Writing to Heal

I admit, those past four years of blogging wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were countless of times I doubted myself and my capabilities as a writer. I begun asking myself, “Am I doing it right?” or “Is anyone even reading what I have to say?”.  There were times that I lacked the motivation to go on, to keep on writing.

Then I remind myself why I begun all of this.

When I started my blog, I had but one aim – to share my thoughts and ideas to the rest of the world. To be more exact, I wanted to write more in order to inspire the world. I wanted it to be more than just a “mere” blog page; I wanted it to be a shout to the void, a show of strength. It is meant to show the world that I can do anything when I put my mind on it

However, the more I write the more I learn that this endeavor is more than just about a young man sharing his ideas. In time, I have realized that writing and blogging, unexpectedly and uncannily, has turned into my personal dose of medicine, a happy pill if you may. Through my blog, I have learned to heal myself, to gather bits and pieces of my broken self in order to form something new. It is a means in which I heal myself and eventually, become a better individual.

Time to Blossom

As I celebrate four years of blogging and writing, I want to raise the proverbial glass for a toast. It is my way of saying thank you to everyone who has been part of my blog, from the readers and to my fellow bloggers.

My writing is quite far from its full potential yet. This is something not to be alarmed, rather, it is something that I look forward to.  It will evolve, it will become better. I just know it. But for now, I will keep on writing. I will be a sponge and keep on absorbing everything there is to learn.

To all those who took time to drop by my humble blog, my warmest thank you to all of you. This blog piece is even more special as this is my 400th blog post! Again, thank you everyone! I hope you tune in long enough to see the best of The Torogi Chronicles.

P.S. You might be wondering why the featured picture is a flower. Apparently, the symbol for fourth anniversary is a flower (or a fruit). Just like the flower, it is my fervent wish that my blog grow into a better one, one that inspires and draws inspiration from the rest of the world.
